First stage of Opole Power Plant optimization is behind us.
On 24 January, a ceremony of completing the first stage of optimisation of the new unit no. 5 took place in the Opole Power Plant.
Unit 5 reached 680 MW capacity, its maximum value is 900 MW. This is the end of the first stage of optimisation, which consisted in tuning the operating parameters of the first of the new units of the Opole Power Plant to the existing power system. First power was generated in mid-January and full readiness is expected by mid-June at the latest. The commissioning of unit 6 is planned for the end of September.
Thursday's ceremony was attended by Minister of Energy Krzysztof Tchórzewski, MPs, authorities of the PGE Capital Group, heads of contracting companies, local government officials and company employees.
Let us remind you that our company also has its share in this great investment, as it designed, built and commissioned the coal supply and slag removal system for two new units – 5 and 6.
